Disaster Preparedness: Individual Planning Guide

Disaster Preparedness Guidebooks for Individuals with Intellectual and/or Developmental Disabilities (I/DD)

Disasters and emergencies can occur suddenly, often with little or no warning. Preparing in advance helps individuals respond safely, confidently, and effectively when the unexpected happens.

The Individual Planning Guide is part of an interactive educational course designed to help you create a personalized disaster preparedness plan tailored to your needs. You can take the course on your own or with your family to ensure everyone knows what to do and feels prepared for any type of emergency.

You may take the interactive course, print the PDF version of the guide, or request a physical copy from the Missouri Department of Mental Health by emailing a request.
